The Gods Gave Me My Father's Wife is a mythic court drama, one of the few Candy Shorts that mixes prophecy, royalty and a stepmother story.

Where The Gods Gave Me My Father's Wife begins

Prince Theron returns home to meet his father's new queen, Lysandra, and recognises her: she is the woman from his dreams. She has been dreaming of him too.

Shared visions pull them into an affair that the court cannot allow. When they are caught and banished, the king, who could never satisfy her, makes an offer nobody expects: his wife and his crown.

Opening: the prince comes home

The first episode is the homecoming and the first meeting, heavy with the sense that the gods have arranged it.

Behind the lock: caught, banished, crowned

The locked episodes carry the affair from secret to scandal to an unusual resolution.
